Senior leadership coaching

For founders, c-suiters and senior leaders who directly impact business outcomes – they’re trapped in “do more” mode and struggle to find time to switch to problem-solving and coaching when under pressure

Why senior leaders end up trapped in "fight or flight"

Overwhelm illustration, light blue

Be honest: ever circled a decision for days, stuck in analysis paralysis?

You always mean to take some time out, think it through, work on the problem, but you never get the time to just THINK.

After a while it starts to eat away at you too – because it should be straightforward… but it isn’t. There’s risk attached, internal politics to consider, a revenue cost, or a reputational one.

You’ve got the data. You’ve got the experience. You can see the options. Yet every time you try to move forward, something changes – another stakeholder opinion, a new urgent issue, that voice in your head saying: “maybe we should wait”.

So you delay – or you make the call quickly, just to stop thinking about it. Then you spend the next week second-guessing yourself.

And the worst part? You’re still functioning, delivering, holding it together, but the inside of your head feels like a browser with 50 tabs open. You’re the one who’s supposed to have all the answers – so what do you do when you… don’t?

What you're actually dealing with

From manager level and above, performance isn’t about knowledge anymore – it’s about how strong your decision-making is when your system feels under threat.

Why? Because the more senior you become, the less your role is about “doing” and the more it’s about “thinking” – especially about people problems, high-level company issues and strategy… hard topics for a mind under stress.

When responsibility rises, the brain starts scanning for danger: ‘What if this goes wrong?’, ‘What will this mean for cash flow?’, ‘What will the board think?’, ‘If I choose this, what else breaks?’

Your threat response narrows your thinking, accelerates reactivity, keeps you focused on the short-term and quietly overrides any strategic intent. This is why smart leaders can look composed on the outside while internally operating in fight-or-flight mode.

Decisions get delayed or avoided, difficult conversations with tricky colleagues get postponed, and your performance dips when pressure spikes. You default to firefighting instead of leading.

My Senior Leader Coaching packages exist to change that directly – not with pep talks, but with brain-based exec coaching sessions that makes high-stakes decisions a lot easier to process.

What senior leader coaching actually impacts

Imagine this instead:

  • You can accept feeling out of control or uncertain, without it pushing you towards rash moves
  • You can take calculated risks without spiralling or over-analysing
  • You can make decisions faster, and stand behind them confidently, knowing that they were the “right” ones
  • You can have that conversation you’ve been avoiding, and leave it feeling energised
  • You can lead with authority, without needing to swoop in and fix everything yourself

That’s the outcome of this work: clearer judgement, confident action and leadership that holds under pressure.

Who would benefit from senior leader coaching?

The nature of being a senior leader is that you rarely have someone in the business to directly challenge your thinking, speak at your level or understand your position – that’s what I’m here for.

I’ll be a sounding board when you need an external voice in the room, not afraid to challenge you when needed.

True executive coaching should always hold space for you to think differently – but also hold up a mirror to your actions. It’s dedicated time to problem-solve and clear the mental clutter.

My work is grounded in how the brain responds to risk, uncertainty, responsibility and pressure – that means we don’t just talk about what’s happening.

We break it down, process it, ground it in facts and uncover the options to move you forward… then we act.

This kind of coaching is ideal for you if:

  • You’re short on time, meaning high-impact decisions are being made with limited thinking space
  • You’re second-guessing all the time, overwhelmed, delaying calls, paralysed by indecision
  • You’re avoiding difficult conversations – be it tricky team members, toxic clients or sales
  • You’re carrying the weight of the business personally, and it’s becoming too much as you try to scale
  • Performance on all sides dips when pressure increases
  • There’s a constant feeling of being ‘on’, but never fully in control

This is true performance coaching for senior leaders: high energy, sharp reframing, always with practical outcomes.

What to expect from my coaching packages

What this work is:

  • Executive coaching for performance under pressure
  • Decision-making support where stakes are high
  • Commercial confidence and authority in difficult conversations of all shapes and sizes
  • Strategic clarity and prioritisation (without chaos)
  • Individual leadership support centred on resilience, as demand increases and challenges scale with you
  • Ideal for founders, c-suiters and senior leaders who feel the weight of their role

What this work isn't:

  • Therapy (aside from where context is needed, we’ll focus on the present and future, not the past)
  • Vague ‘mindset coaching’ (we don’t have time for that)
  • Sessions that stay at the level of motivation, with no clear metrics of success or tangible outcomes
  • Team training or leadership programmes (that’s a separate service)
  • Sales or marketing tactics (unless they directly relate to your decision-making and leadership performance)

The Transformation: What you'll gain from coaching

These sessions are about you and the unique change you want to see. While we’ll map out a session agenda in the beginning, your coaching package is built to flex and evolve with you as needs change – because that’s the reality of business. Depending on your unique challenges, leaders will typically experience:

  • Clearer, faster decision-making without impulsivity
  • Clarity on your pressure points, how they narrow your thinking and the right protocols to support problem-solving
  • Greater confidence in commercial judgement, conflict resolution and strategic decisions
  • Fewer reactive calls, less internal noise and far less firefighting
  • Stronger boundary-setting and leadership conversations
  • More consistent performance and energy over time
  • Reduced reliance on adrenaline to get through the week – you can finally scale without burning out

The outcome: leadership that holds under pressure whilst driving better results across the board.

Don't take my word for it – I've coached dozens of high-performing senior leaders and founders...

Senior Leader Impact Coaching FAQ's

How are the sessions structured?

Senior Leader Impact Coaching is delivered through structured 1:1 formats, typically including:

  • An initial scoping and discovery call, so we’re clear from the beginning what you want to see improve and the KPIs associated – rooted in business outcomes, no vague, fluffy metrics
  • A block of exec coaching sessions, with the cadence and format dictated by you so it fits in with packed director diaries
  • Clear session structure, focus and measurable outcomes, against a strategy we work out together

You’ll leave each session knowing what matters, what you’re doing next – and what you’re not doing anymore!

This is for you if:

  • You’re a founder, business owner, c-suiter, director or senior leader
  • The quality of your decisions is suffering from stress and it’s holding back the business
  • You’re carrying too much responsibility alone, often becoming a bottleneck
  • You’re leading under constant pressure and want stability, not fragility
  • You want strategy execution without the burnout
  • You don’t want fluff – you want the shortest route to meaningful results
The Senior Leader Impact Coaching options are designed for leaders with no spare time. Most clients do 60-minute sessions (sometimes 90 when we’re in a heavy decision cycle with a particularly challenging issue to navigate). The goal is not to add more to your diary or to-do list – it’s to remove the mental load that’s already draining it.
Yes! This work is built around how you operate and what your role demands week to week – you’re the one in control. Some leaders prefer steady weekly sessions. Others work best with short bursts around key moments (board meetings, restructuring, hiring/firing, commercial pivots). We’ll choose the rhythm that supports performance without creating dependency or it becoming a massive ask.

No – Senior Leader Impact Coaching is for exactly that! Impact! You can start with a short block to pressure-test fit and see results. Even a short burst will move you towards your ideal outcome, as long as it’s clearly defined (which is why we do the scoping call). If it’s working, we continue. If it’s not, we stop. Simple.

Often, yes – exhaustion at this level is usually due to massive decision fatigue and responsibility in total overload. The work isn’t about ‘pushing harder’ – in fact, the goal by the end of each session is for you to feel relief, even energized, because we’ve removed some of the stress instead of adding to it. Our goal is to reduce reactivity, restore thinking space, and make the next move easier to take. If you’re in true burnout, we’ll adjust pace and intensity accordingly – but if you’re in any doubt, it’s best to just drop me a message. I’ll give you an honest opinion about whether this is the right move for you or not.
No. Here’s a quick way of describing the difference – therapy is about the past and present, coaching is about the present and future. Therapy is about processing, healing and creating an awareness of what happened in the past and how it’s affecting the present. This is performance coaching: decision-making, judgement calls, commercial confidence, setting boundaries, difficult conversations and engineering behaviour under pressure – for real scenarios you’re facing right now. It’s focused on taking action and moving forward, only looking back when it can help us do that effectively.
Not as such – but the point of coaching is that the coachee takes accountability. I can coach you until I’m blue in the face, but if you don’t take the action, nothing changes. You’ll always leave with a simple action or decision to implement, because momentum comes from execution, not insight. If something feels heavy, we redesign it until it’s doable in the reality of your week.
This depends entirely on your goals – but most leaders feel immediate relief through clarity and reduced mental load after the very first session. The deeper shifts (like developing a leadership style or staying calm under pressure) build as you apply the protocols consistently.
Common themes include high-stakes commercial decisions, team performance and accountability at senior level, difficult conversations (clients, board, team performance), prioritisation and focus under pressure, leadership confidence and authority, burnout prevention, stepping out of firefighting mode and navigating the “growing pains” of scaling.
Completely. This level of work only functions with trust so everything we discuss stays between us. It’s even built into our contract, so you don’t have to worry about sharing client details or sensitive data with me.
No – it makes you more effective, efficient, productive, but if you have a goal associated with a certain trait (like a more assertive leadership style) that’s down to you and your objectives. The goal is to help you reach your full potential and to remove the stress patterns that often hold us back.
Yes – this actually makes up a large proportion of my client base! Being a business owner or a senior leader can be lonely; if you’re carrying the weight of a business mentally and emotionally, this is where we reduce load and restore capacity.
For hard metrics (like revenue targets or department KPIs) it’s pretty straightforward. When it comes to mindset work or the “soft skills” (communication, leadership and so on), success is not judged by ‘feeling better’ alone (although that often happens). We take things that feel quite intangible (like decision-making or reactivity) and we make them actionable by breaking them down and looking at the impact of success in that area. Then we determine the metrics for success using my brain-based performance model. Behaviours adopted, actions taken, outcomes engineered.
This was always my problem with coaching; whenever I had a coach, it would be an hourly rate that didn’t account for the stuff that happened outside of the sessions, and what help is that?! That’s why I built unlimited Q&A via a preferred method (like phone, email or Whatsapp) into all my Senior Leader Impact Coaching packages. When the worst happens and you wish you could pick the phone up to me – you can.
We’ll diagnose that on the discovery call, but every client I work with often ends up with a mix of both – it’s more about the ratio of the two. As a general rule of thumb: if the issue is clarity, strategy and direction, consultancy may be better. If the issue is execution under pressure, decision quality, avoidance or confidence, coaching is usually the answer.
